Testing QCD sum rule techniques on the lattice.

چکیده
Results for the first test of the “crude” QCD continuum model, commonly used in QCD Sum Rule analyses, are presented for baryon correlation functions. The QCD continuum model is found to effectively account for excited state contributions to the short-time regime of two-point correlation functions and allows the isolation of ground state properties. Confusion in the literature surrounding the physics represented in point-to-point correlation functions is also addressed. These results justify the use of the “crude” QCD continuum model and lend credence to the results of rigorous QCD Sum Rule analyses. 12.38.Gc, 12.38.Lg, 12.40.Yx Typeset using REVTEX

The gauge invariant quark correlator in QCD sum rules and lattice QCD
Taking the gauge invariant quark correlator as an example, in this work we perform a direct comparison of lattice QCD simulations with the QCD sum rule approach. The quark correlator is first investigated in the framework of QCD sum rules and the correlation length of the quark field is calculated. Comparing the phenomenological part of the sum rule with previous measurements of the quark corre...
متن کاملQCD Sum-Rule Bounds on the Light Quark Masses
QCD sum-rules are related to an integral of a hadronic spectral function, and hence must satisfy integral inequalities which follow from positivity of the spectral function. Development of these Hölder inequalities and their application to the Laplace sum-rule for pions lead to a lower bound on the average of the non-strange 2GeV light-quark masses in the MS scheme. The light quark masses are f...
متن کاملEstimates of Light Quark Masses from Lattice QCD and QCD Sum rules
This talk reviews the progress made in the determination of the light quark masses using lattice QCD and QCD sum rules. Based on preliminary calculations with three flavors of dynamical quarks, the lattice estimate is ms = 75(15) MeV, a tantalizingly low value. On the other hand the leading estimates from scale and pseudo-scalar sum rules are 99(16) and 100(12) MeV respectively. The τ -decay su...
متن کاملfrom the sum rule for semileptonic B decay
A precise determination of |Vub| can be obtained exploiting the sum rule for inclusive charmless semileptonic B-meson decays. The sum rule is derived on the basis of light-cone expansion and b-flavored quantum number conservation. The sum rule does not receive any perturbative QCD correction. In this determination of |Vub|, there is no perturbative QCD uncertainty, while the dominant hadronic u...
متن کاملDFTT 64/92 October 1992 VIOLATION OF THE BJORKEN SUM RULE IN QCD
We show that the Bjorken sum rule for the first moment of the polarized nucleon structure function g1 is not necessarily satisfied in QCD if the axial anomaly is taken into account. We argue that nonperturbative QCD effects should lead to a violation of the sum rule of the order of the percentage isospin violation in current quark masses. Submitted to: Physics Letters B
